Critically evaluate the role of “driving pressure” measurement in the care of mechanical ventilated patients.


Outline your approach to the assessment and management of an alert, unintubated patient with suspected necrotizing fasciitis of the right lower limb.


Regarding venous gas embolism:

  1. Describe the mechanisms of cardiopulmonary dysfunction that can result. (50%)
  2. Outline the management of a patient who is hypoxaemic and hypotensive due to venous gas embolism following right internal jugular vascath insertion. (50%)
